Motivation

As sustainability becomes increasingly important, companies need reliable data to assess and improve their processes. Traditional ERP systems often lack complete sustainability-related information. This thesis focuses on leveraging multimodal data sources, including ERP data, external datasets, and potentially physical sensors, to create sustainability-enriched event logs. These event logs form the foundation for process mining and process analysis towards sustainability.

Research Objectives

• Identification of relevant data sources for sustainability attributes
• Development of a framework for integrating multimodal data into event logs
• Practical implementation of a sustainability event log

Tasks

• Literature review on sustainability data and event log creation
• Identification and evaluation of multimodal data sources
• Design and implementation of an event log based on these data sources
• Documentation and discussion of findings

Requirements

• Interest in sustainability, business processes, and data integration
• Above-average grades or other qualifications
• Structured, careful, and self-motivated work style
• High degree of autonomy and responsibility
