Robot Palletizing

A common task by industrial robots/cobots are palletizing of parts: putting parts on pallets based on certain criteria. Palletizing programs are often part of the (static) robot programming, integrating the palletizing program with dynamic error handling routines of results in expansive and hard to maintain code. For small and medium enterprises, with low volume production, a high number of product variations, or build-to-order, it is important to allow for a maximum of flexibility when palettizing small lot sizes (e.g. a run of 15 different products), including error handling and unique identification of products.

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to explore different means of integrating a process engine with palettizing robots and error handling, especially of varied products. The thesis includes the creation of a software prototype. *vi* users preferred.
