Surgical Data Science

About

The CAMP Surgical Data Science team pioneers modern understanding of operating rooms with a focus on holistic understanding and workflow analysis. By employing 3D computer vision, we aim to transform how surgical procedures are analyzed and supported, covering both the internal laparoscopic views and macroscopic activities captured by external room cameras. This comprehensive approach enables a deep dive into the nuances of surgical workflows, facilitating the development of technologies that enhance efficiency, safety, and outcomes in the operating room. Our work sets the foundation for the next generation of intelligent operating environments, where data-driven insights and 3D visualizations play a critical role in advancing surgical practices and improving patient safety.
