Abstract

Navigation in surgery was born from the desire to perform safer and less invasive procedures. It mainly answers the questions "Where is my (anatomical) target?" and "Where am I (anatomically)?"

This projects proposes the combination of navigated surgery with Advanced Visualization techniques, for example Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) for healthcare professionals. This enables additional visual cues and interaction methods to improve 3D understanding and thus patient outcome.
