Bio

Prof. Dr. Ruben Mayer is an interim professor at the Chair of Application and Middleware Systems at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) since December 2020. Before joining TUM in July 2018 as a post-doctoral researcher, he worked as a Ph.D. student and as a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Distributed Systems, University of Stuttgart, where he received the Ph.D. in computer science in 2018. His research is focused on improving the performance of large-scale distributed data analytics systems, such as complex event processing, graph processing, and deep learning systems. Further interests include decentralized systems, such as blockchains and edge computing. Dr. Mayer has received the ACM DEBS Grand Challenge Audience Award both in 2016 and 2017 and the ACM DEBS Grand Challenge Performance Award in 2016.
