How to Schedule a Thesis Presentation
Finding a date for the presentation:
- Final presentations should only take place after the student has handed in their thesis, so keep that in mind when scheduling a presentation.
- The current schedule and information on where and when the presentations take place can be found on our website: https://www.cs.cit.tum.de/en/sse/teaching/thesis-presentations/
- We only have regular slots for presentations during the lecture period. You can look up the relevant dates online on the TUM website here: https://www.tum.de/en/studies/application/application-info-portal/dates-periods-and-deadlines.
- During the lecture-free period we don’t schedule thesis presentations in the regular time frames. We do have one or two extra events each semester break. Those then hold about 4-6 slots and are published on our website (see link above).
- If students students have any strict deadlines (e.g. because they need to graduate soon or will spend their next semester abroad), schedule the presentations well in advance (about 3-4 months). Especially the slots in the beginning or in the end of each lecture period and also the special events are always taken very quickly and early.
Scheduling a presentation:
- Please choose and request one of the open slots that fit your schedule via e-mail to the contact person (linked on main presentations website).
- Ideally, the advisor should write this e-mail. If this is not possible, the student can also request their presentation slot and put their advisor in CC.
- Please provide the following information when you write an e-mail to schedule a talk:
- Date: <one or two preferred dates that were selected according to the criteria above>
- Student: <name>
- MA talk/ BA talk/ GR talk: <title of the thesis or guided research>
- Advisor(s): <Names of all advisors>
- Ideally, provide the information in this exact structure because we can then just copy and paste most of the information when scheduling the talks.
- When you have requested a time slot, it is only scheduled when we have announced the presentation on the website. So please always double check whether we have really scheduled the presentation!
