Download the GPU based Raycaster with ClearView Technology
For non-commercial use only
- A Shader 3.0 capable GPU such as the ATI Radeon X1300 or above or the NVIDIA Geforce 6 series or above.
I decided to rewrite the raycaster in Microsoft's XNA API since the C#/XNA code is much cleaner than the C++/DirectX "pointer code". However, since I initially wrote the program for our X-Box 360 you won't have much fun using it without an X-Box 360 controller plugged into you PC. If you do not have such a controller you probably want to edit the GamepadHandler.cs file first and add some more meaningfull keyboard functionality.
To compile either version (X-Box / Windows) you need XNA Game Studio Express 1.0 and Visual C# Express, both can be downloaded for free from the above URLs.
To only run programm all it takes is the XNA Framework redistributable.
Due to license restrictions unfortunately I cannot include the really nice visible human dataset. However, if you are interested in this datasets you can apply for a free license yourself here.
