New Article on Architectural Patterns for Fog Systems Published in IEEE Access

A new technical paper on architectural patterns for fog systems that takes an industry-agnostic and use-case-specific perspective has been published in IEEE Access.

We developed seven architectural patterns for fog systems based on an initial literature review and multiple rounds of interviews with experts from industry and research. These patterns include:

• Single- and multi-layer processing assistance

• Decentralized and centralized smart processing support

• Parallel infrastructures and temporary clusters for edge managers

• Hierarchical hubs.
