The research area Information Systems & Software Engineering addresses the engineering of IT systems as well as their role and embedding in their technical, sociotechnical, economic, legal and application-specific contexts.

The participating chairs combine theory-based research methods with real-world issues. Together, the members of the research area aim to improve the quality of software-intensive systems and to pursue their effective and efficient use in concrete application domains.
