Biography

I am Vasileios Xanthakis, a Research Associate and PhD Candidate at TUM Campus Heilbronn. I completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s studies in Inudstrial Engineerung at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, with a focus on digital health, responsible AI, and human-centered design. During my studies, I worked as a student assistant at the Institute of Applied Informatics and Formal Description Methods (AIFB), focusing on federated learning and knowledge-informed systems. My current research explores knowledge representation approaches to facilitate the integration of expert knowledge in neurosymbolic systems, aiming to develop collaborative approaches that make AI systems more transparent, trustworthy, and robust.
