ARISE
AI-Powered Requirements Engineering and Software Architecture
ARISE is a platform that empowers empirical software engineering research by providing the groundwork for research prototypes that automate processes in the fields of requirements engineering and software architecture.
Generative AI is everywhere. Especially in the field of software engineering, it already disrupts research and practice. The focus is commonly on programming support. To facilitate further research and practical impact, in particular for earlier activities, we will build ARISE, a platform that integrates AI for requirements engineering, analysis, and management, as well as software architecture and modeling.
ARISE will accelerate AI research in the areas of requirements engineering and software architecture by providing the groundwork for user studies and the potential for future practical use. It will include the possibility to easily integrate specialized and fine-tuned models as well as interfaces to commercial LLMs. A further key component will be a modern UI, including standard editors, that can be extended with more specialized editors. This will reduce the workload of researchers aiming to run experiments and user studies with their improved models. Furthermore, it will allow new combinations that make use of both capabilities in requirements engineering and architecture. For example, a model for requirements engineering could reformulate requirements to make it easier for a model for architecture design to create a component model.
The ARISE platform is developed together with the Requirements to Design project. For further information on the project, please contact Tobias Eisenreich.
