Ferienakademie: AI in Games (Course 1)
This course explores the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and game development. It covers how AI is used to create intelligent behaviors, generate procedural content, and enhance player experiences with machine learning techniques. The course also discusses the history of AI in games, current applications, and future trends, including generative AI concepts. Key topics include pathfinding, decision-making, machine learning in games, and the ethical implications of AI in gaming.

The course covers the following topics, among others:
- Game AI and decision-making models
- Machine learning for interactive systems
- Reinforcement learning and adaptive agents
- Procedural content generation
- Generative AI for dialogue, assets, and storytelling
- Simulation and Virtual Worlds
- Player Analysis and Data-Driven Game Design
- AI-Powered Tools for Game Development
- Multi-Agent Systems and Emergent Behavior
In addition to technical fundamentals, the course will also explore the design, ethical, and social aspects of intelligent gaming systems.
