ii at the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) 2025

Hosted in the vibrant “Music City” Nashville, the conference offered a diverse program of high-quality paper sessions, informative professional development workshops, and engaging panel discussions that fostered lively academic exchange throughout the week.
On Monday, December 15, Ali Sunyaev participated in a panel discussion titled “AI and Synthetic Data Use in Healthcare: A Mixed Blessing?” The panel featured Jennifer Claggett, Monica Tremblay, and Atreyi Kankanhalli, and was skillfully moderated by Abhay Mishra. The discussion offered diverse perspectives on the opportunities and challenges of using synthetic data for AI in healthcare. More information on the panel is available at: https://aisel.aisnet.org/icis2025/panels/panels/3/

On Tuesday, December 16, two members of the ii research group presented their current work.
Yannick Heß presented the paper “Creating Business Value through Fog-based Information Systems”. The paper is available at: https://aisel.aisnet.org/icis2025/diginnoventren/diginnoventren/15/
Richard Guse presented “Agents of Change: The Role of Healthcare Professionals in Digital Innovation Initiation”. The paper is available at: aisel.aisnet.org/icis2025/general_topic/general_topic/11/
Despite challenging circumstances, an early morning time slot for Yannick Heß’s session and a preceding false fire alarm before Richard Guse’s presentation, both sessions attracted a strong audience and generated valuable and constructive feedback to support future research development.

A particular highlight of the conference was the social event on Tuesday evening, which offered excellent food, stimulating conversations, and a memorable atmosphere. The evening concluded with line dancing and live music, reflecting the musical spirit of Nashville.
