Girls' Day at the TUM with Members of the ii research group

After the girls, aged between 11 and 17, had gained insights into the inspiring career paths of women in research and taken part in a campus tour, 17 of them joined our workshop. During the two-hour session, the students learned how to tackle a research problem in practice. Together, they formulated hypotheses and tested them. They analysed how the recommendation algorithm on their social media platforms works and how it might potentially be influenced. After the various groups had presented their interesting findings, some very exciting points and ideas were raised in the concluding discussion. We hope to have provided the girls with inspiring food for thought and a new enthusiasm for research.
