Welcome to KrcmarLab
Our research group was founded in 1987 at the University of Hohenheim as the Chair for Information Systems. In 2002, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Helmut Krcmar followed the call of the Technical University of Munich. In October 2020, Helmut Krcmar became Professor emeritus and the former chair became the KrcmarLab. As a research group, KrcmarLab is embedded in the Chair for Information Systems and BPM and engages in a variety of research and project work.

Prof. Krcmar honored with Federal Cross of Merit (Bundesverdienstkreuz)

Bernd Sibler, Minister of the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Art, handed the Order of Merit to Prof. Krcmar on the 15th of June, 2021. For Mr. Sibler, Prof. Krcmar is “a key shaper of our digital future”. In his laudation, Mr. Sibler highlights the special merits of Prof. Krcmar: "You have been driving the internationalization of German Information Systems with your passion and commitment for decades." With his extensive experience and knowledge on IT, Prof. Krcmar is “a highly sought-after member of numerous professional and advisory boards - with international impact”. His research work in the areas of Digital Transformation, Information and Knowledge Management, Platform-based Ecosystems, IT Service Management, and E-Government, is highly recognized and of great impact. The outstanding commitment of Prof. Krcmar to education ensures that we have enough smart people that are able to drive and shape the digitalization. Mr. Sibler concludes: "Your scientific, university political and entrepreneurial achievements are manifold and of great significance. I am very proud that you have been part of our Bavarian scientific community since you joined TUM in 2002."
